Gentle Folk is the creation of Gareth Belton and his wife, Rainbo, in the Adelaide Hills region of Australia. The two former marine biologists have been growing grapes and making wines intuitively there for years, and they only do what little they need to throughout the winemaking process to let the grapes shine.
Gareth has a particular affinity for Burgundy, and he's developing more and more plots to showcase similar qualities to his favourite French region. Unlike many Australian winemakers, Gareth grows all his own fruit and tends to their vineyards all year - which many growers don't do Down Under.
Their labour-intensive and fruit-first approach pays off, as every year they manage to achieve their primary goals: maximum drinkability and enjoyment. |

| Col Fondo, Pet Nat, whichever you want to call it this unfiltered fizz is delish.
It's grown organically in Veneto, with a wide variety of grapes in the mix - including our Prosecco-fans' favourite: Glera.
There's enough going on for this to keep up with food, think nutty notes, honeyed fruit, and grippy structure, but balanced by citrusy acidity and flinty minerality if you're in need of an aperitif. | | |
